A final score of 4-1, does not justify the unfailing endeavor that the Frisco Blackhawks I-League team displayed while attempting to balance out the score.
At 1 minute and 37 seconds left in the first period, the Frisco Blackhawks scored! The team’s goal was made this week by #52 Rodney Green. This is Rodney’s second goal of the season.
While the score ratio is certainly narrowed from games 1 and 2, the importance of how the team is evolving in their wills and skills was observed by an explosion of a performance.

GAME TWO - FRISCO BLACKHAWKS I LEAGUE
The Frisco Blackhawks I league team energized the arena, as they played a marvelous game Friday night at the new McKinney Stars Center.
The team continues to impress as they came closer to a win Friday night with a final score of 7-1.
This weeks hot shot was by Melody Roumell # 64, who in the 3rd period gave the Blackhawks fans something to roar about as she made a great shot and scored her first goal and the teams second goal of the season.
The Blackhawks improvement can be attributed to both the determination and hard work of the players and the encouraging support of the coaches and fans!
This was only the second game of the season and for some the second game ever played, and yet the players all appear to be more confident and are finding themselves in better position on the ice in the defensive and offensive zones.

SEASON OPENER FOR THE NEW FRISCO BLACKHAWKS I-LEAGUE TEAM
It was an exciting and eventful Friday evening as the Frisco Blackhawks I league hockey team took on the Frisco Rookies.
It was a win, win situation!
The Frisco Rookies won 8 to 1, but the Frisco Blackhawks gained the experience of their first game of the season.
He shoots and he scores - #52 Rodney Green – Earns the first goal of the season for the Blackhawk team!
Thanks to the teams stupendous effort and increasingly developing skills, by the third period it was truly a game to watch and enjoy!

Big Win!
Well it seems we decided to wait until the last minute in our game last night. I also think we played half the Frisco High School Hockey team...Am I getting older or is everyone else just getting younger!
The Titans jumped out early and took a 3-0 lead by the end of the 2nd period!
Even though we were short benched the team really stepped up! We scored 5 unanswered goals in the 3rd period to capture an exciting win! This was obviously our greatest comeback yet!

Game one - the new Blackhawks I-League Team
Good luck tonight!
Kim Cyr and her team will play their first I-league game tonight! Good luck to everyone!
It is a small world.....one of the new players came up to me after their practice last night and asked if i remembered him...once I heard the name there was no doubt.
Mark Wampler, now a new hockey player and I use to play football in his mom's front yard....and yes I'm showing my age but that would have been in 1976 or there abouts!
This will also be Dericks first night in goal! COVER THAT 5 HOLE!

Champs Again!

Wow!
What an exciting couple of weeks!
The Blackhawks MCHA D team wrapped up the summer session and playoffs with a win in the championship game last Sunday! We were victorious over the Stars.
It was a hard fought even game with both teams having 31 shots on net!
We were fortunate to come out with a 4-1 victory. What a great way to wrap up the summer!
Our new season and challenge starts November 1st at the new DPSC in McKinney!
Officially there will now be 4 Frisco Blackhawks teams!

Same Song - 2nd Verse
What a game!
The Blackhawks D team (MCHA) finished our two game sweep of the Bruins last night. We had a close game against them last week winning 5-4 but since it was double elimination we had to battle them again on Sunday.
A few timely goals and a hard fought team effort enabled us to win the Frisco Division and advance to the finals on Sunday in Grapevine at 3:40pm. As of now we do not know who our opponent is as they must play the 3rd game of their series on Wednesday night in Grapevine.
Congrats to the Bruins who played to great games, I'm not sure we had much more for them. The final game was a great example of what the MCHA is all about. Two teams who played very intense but never lost sight of what it is all about.
Great job guys!

Blackhawks Win 3-0 take home the Lochran's Cup!
What an exciting night!
The Blackhawks were able to totally dominate the Fury in the championship game on Saturday night! Through the first two periods the Fury managed a total of 2 shots on goal! I have to admit it did get a bit boring back there! In the 3rd period they were able turn it up quite a bit yet we were able to hang on to the win and shutout!
Although the game took a familiar course when playing the Fury it was clear the Blackhawks were not going to be pushed around on Saturday night!
Winning the cup was a great way to cap off a season and our run as an I-league team as we finished 10-0, in the last twenty games we are 18-2!
Now we look forward to a new journey in the D2 league!

Where are we now?
I know it has been awhile. I thought I'd take a moment and update the status of the Frisco Blackhawks!
The Saturday night team is having another great season, we are 7-0 this season and have the Fury this Saturday night. The Sunday team wrapped up the regular season in 2nd place finishing with a 9-2-1 season. We have a bye this week and start the playoffs a week from Sunday! GO BLACKHAWKS!
The Sunday team has also decided to really take a leap, next season we will have a team playing in the MCHA C league...oh my what have we gotten ourselves into!
The other exciting news is the Saturday team will no longer be an I-League team starting this fall, the StarsCenter will be creating a new I-League designed for first time hockey players so the Saturday teams will now be a "D2" league.
What is really exciting is Kim Cyr will be heading up the new Frisco Blackhawks I-League team! Several of our wives will be joining the team as well Derick will be in the net!
It is really exciting that the whole "Frisco Blackhawks" hockey has grown to include so many great friends! I could never have imagined it would blossom into 4 different teams. There is just no way this could have happened without the leadership and responsibility taken on by many of the teammates!
A special thanks to Antoine Cyr, Bryce Sinclair, Billy Suguitan, Scott Lynch, Dan Miller, Derick Suguitan and Kim Cyr for taking on so much. It could not have happened without you guys leading the way!

Game 1 - Solid Win
Blue Jackets vs Frisco Blackhawks 6-2
We were fortunate to pull a solid win last night, we were short benched but everyone stepped up! The most fun part of the evening was our standard Rockband night out.
Thanks to Leah, Jill, and Misty for joining in!

Update - The Big Showdown!
Well....the big showdown was just that....a tough loss as the Fury were able to capture the Lochrann's Cup with a 2-1 win. We were in it to the last second but just came up short!
A special thanks to all the family and friends for coming out!
We hope a few of you will come out to our next game. We start our new season this Saturday night at 6:00pm against the Blue Jackets!
Here is our schedule for the July-Sept session!

Showdown!
The Lochran's Cup!
This Saturday 6:00pm!
Frisco Blackhawks VS Fury
Dr. Pepper Stars Center
It has taken a year to get to this point! Currently we are 8-1, with our last game being a 7-0 route of the team we are playing in the championship game. The Fury were very short benched so we really did not get a good look at the entire team. We've got a funny feeling they are going to be looking for some revenge. The game did not impact the standings for either team so the intensity was not up to its normal level.
The Blackhawks are still reeling from a bit of unsportsmanlike behavior by Lumburge, the defenseman on the Fury. In a game last season he scored the game winning goal in a shootout and while returning to his teammates felt the need to skate by our bench pointing his finger at each player....not a good idea!
So be there Saturday night!

We've come along way baby!
Last night was the biggest game since the creation of the Frisco Blackhawks last winter. This "spring session" is our official 1 year anniversary. What a way to celebrate it.
At 8:30pm the puck dropped against Team Beer, with a win we would lock up our first attempt at winning the championship and the Lochran's Cup! The game started off with a strong defensive battle. The first period yielded only 8 total shots. Our defense was incredibly strong the entire night giving up only 2 shots in the first period and 13 overall.
Getting the scoring underway was our "trouble maker", LOL, Michael Tuer. Michael who plays defense took the puck from end to end and scored our first goal of the night at 4:40 of the first period, it was unassisted! That was about it for scoring in the first period. In the second period our Captain Bryce made a great move on a breakaway sliding across the front of the net and making a turn around shot from a tough angle beating the goalie and defenseman. The excitement escalted when only 16 seconds later the Beer pulled within a goal when a rebound from Russ landed on the stick of Thomas Matragrano to tighten the contest giving us a slim one goal lead. A big mistake would be to think the Blackhawks are going to just try and "hold on" to a lead. Just over a minute later Scott Lynch would complete the scoring for the night by taking an assist from Kevin Guthrie and rip one over the left shoulder of Ronnie Beckwith, the Beer's goalie.
The defensive mindset again took over in the 3rd period, that is not to say it was not filled with tension. At 2:13 of the period Russ crashed the net.... and me, well I don't think Billy liked that very much so he figured it would be a good time to draw his first roughing penalty of the season by applying a little wood to our old friend Russ.
Add a roughing, slashing and tripping penalty to the Beer and that just about wrapped up any chance of closing the gap on a 2 goal lead. Again, a great night!
So next week we look forward to playing the "anti-Christ" of the I-League - THE FURY! Squaring up against the Fury has always been a fun and sometimes heated matchup. I don't think many Blackhawks have forgotten the game winning shootout goal by one Mr. Lumberg...I'm not sure it was the goal is what sticks in our crawl as much as the taunting as he skated back to his bench! 2 game left.....both against the Fury...ain't this a barrel of monkeys!

4th Session Wrap up - 3rd Place!
What an exciting way to finish the 4th session!
As we approach the official anniversary and the end of our first season what better way to end it with an exciting 5-4 victory for 3rd place over Project Mayhem!
This season has been an absolute blast, as we finished with our first winning record! We finished 6-3-1!
In last nights game Bryce and Kevin Guthrie each had two goals with Antoine having one as well. The game started with the Mayhem putting a tremendous amount of pressure on us. They clearly manhandled us throughout the first period. Luckily we are able to take a two goal lead entering the 2nd period. The Mayhem had a nice wrister from my right that found the back of the net quickly into the 2nd period. From this point forward we seemed to turn the tide eventually scoring two goals within 8 seconds late in the period.
We continued to dominate the 3rd period when about 1/3rd of the way through Kevin Guthrie through in what turned out to be the game winning goal. With just 7:00 remaining in the game the Mayhem proved they were not going to quit! The bettered our two goals in less than 10 seconds by scoring 3 goals in just over a minute! Now the heat was on!
Thank goodness our defense stepped up and even with the Mayhem pulling their goalie with 1:40 remaining we are able to hold on for a 5-4 victory!
It was a fantastic season as my first as goalie, we had quite a few changes with Kevin Guthrie joining the team, losing Scott Lynch with an injury. It seems we have finally figured out the strengths and weaknesses of everyone and have a good handle on the lines!
No rest for the weary! The Spring '09 session starts this next Saturday with our first of two practices!

3 in 3
Yep....
It really feels like we turned the page in Blackhawk land this weekend (and Monday). We started off the 3 days of hockey with a 9:45pm game on Saturday night against the Tundra Monkeys. The first two games of the season were exciting, and yes we were competitive but we lost 4-2 to the Ice Rats and then lost 6-5 in a shoot out to the Fury. Well this weekend we all came together and had a nice win against the Tundra Monkeys, 6-1!
Several guys had great games including Scott (the new hat trick), Antoine, and Bret!
Well Sunday we played the Red Wings from Grapevine, this was another fun game which we were fortunate to come out on top 4-2, the Sunday team is really starting to gel! The Red Wings were a little short benched so Scott had to skate for them.
Monday was a real blast, if I recall history correctly our very first game in this new league we were smoked 10-4 by the Warriors. It was nice to return the favor with a 10-4 pounding in our win Monday night at 9:45pm. Scott showed off his 2nd hat trick of the weekend while line 3, made up of Russ, David and Matt scored 5 goals!
The most important thing is everyone had a great time and great fellowship!
See you at the pond!

Here we go boys!
Well season 4 is just a few days away!
Quite a few changes this session as we've added a couple new full time guys and I'm jumping into the net. Our first game is Saturday at 6:00pm, it looks like the Ice Rats will be wanting some revenge as we were the only team to beat them last season! I'm wondering if us playing them in the first game is a tradition...something like the Cowboys always playing on Thanksgiving day...well probably not.
So get your popcorn ready!

Roster Changes
Well we are about ready to wrap up our 3rd season, with a win we can get to a 4-4-2 record, this would be our best so far!
With a new season just around the corner the roster is starting to come together.
Vince and John Steinway will be moving to the sub-list and this will open the door for a couple of new players on the full roster. Kevin Guthrie who has played for the Blue Jackets will be joining us along with Kevin Whitney. Kevin Whitney has subbed as both a player and a goalie.
Looks like we've got some great new friends on the team!
