What an exciting night!
The Blackhawks were able to totally dominate the Fury in the championship game on Saturday night! Through the first two periods the Fury managed a total of 2 shots on goal! I have to admit it did get a bit boring back there! In the 3rd period they were able turn it up quite a bit yet we were able to hang on to the win and shutout!
Although the game took a familiar course when playing the Fury it was clear the Blackhawks were not going to be pushed around on Saturday night!
Winning the cup was a great way to cap off a season and our run as an I-league team as we finished 10-0, in the last twenty games we are 18-2!
Now we look forward to a new journey in the D2 league!

The refs were great in that game. Especially the one that played for the Blackhawks. He should be proud. I wonder if his C-League buddies think he's cool for helping an I-League team go undefeated.
Scott did play pretty good, yep you got us we used a sandbager...oh wait he plays against Tul Kalayananit in the same C league....hmmm
Lets see...some more memorable Fury vs. Blackhawks moments.
1.Lundberg scores game winner in tiebreaker and skates by the Blackhawks bench pointing his finger and swearing at all the players.
2. Fury beat Blackhawks in finals of the Spring session and Landrum yells "FU's" and flips off the Blackhawks bench during his celebration.
3. Fury player takes out Emily for the season with a hit from behind away from the play.
4. Landrum consistently screams "I'm gonna f'ing kill you" during the finals.
5. Fury Captain refuses to shakes hands after the Blackhawks victory in the Championship game.
Isn't hockey great!
Fritchie, you finally did it! You put together a team in front of you that is so good they cover for your horrible goaltending. You needed a bunch of D-leaguers and a C-leaguer but you finally got a group that does not give up many SOG, that's important when your goalie can't stop many shots. Again, congrats!
On another note, your own team mates can't stand you. Just thought you should know.
I know..heck my own dog can't stand me most of the time!
9 Players have been with the team since it started just over a year ago, another 4 or 5 have been with it since season 2, and 1 or 2 joined in the last session.
Feel free to come out from behind the mask of "anonymous". You've been given the pulpit long enough, I'll be happy to post additional comments if you be a good sport about it.
I would like to know if you are going to have the same roster for the upcoming session? I heard Long was leaving (which will take care of the C league players).
Just want to know how hard I need to recruit :)
see ya on the ice!
Deanna,
Yes, we did replace Scott Long, who only played 5 out of the 10 wins. We replaced him with a retired NHL coach so I hope he doesn't get kicked out also!
LOL
